Who we are and what this is about:
Stolen Liberty was founded in 2006 by a handful of individuals with a common interest in the U.S. Constitution, as a project to help educate the general public regarding the Constitution, its underlying foundations and principles, about the brave men who pledged to each other their “lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to build a new nation, founded on Liberty and Equality.
The projects scope grew to highlight and call out important assaults on those founding principles, and assaults by the U.S. government on our Constitutional and God-given rights and Freedoms, particularly those engendered by the USA Patriot Act, and related actions by the Bush administration, that infringed on a variety of core items outlined in the Bill of Rights.
Unfortunately, time has gotten the better of us, and the project, despite our best intentions fell by the wayside, a casualty of our collective circumstances.
We hope, however, to make a better effort to keep folks informed, to educate, to enlighten, and to stimulate our countrymen to pay careful attention to the things that are going on around us.
What we are not and what this isn’t about:
Some might interpret this site as another collection of crazy, right-wing nutjobs, bent on bringing down the U.S. Government, or advocating violent revolt or overthrow.
That is not the case.
We want to educate, to inspire, and to enlighten. Any calls for change we make are those that involve peaceful, lawful, non-violent methods to implement change. Things like voting, being active in your community, helping others to learn about the Constitution, and understand the path that our Founding Father established for America.
It is our position that the Founding Fathers, while they may have discussed a need to “fertilize the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants”, that the Founding Fathers were firmly AGAINST the use of violence as a means to implement change in a country. They recognized the painful cost of violence, and only resorted to it in order to drive the British armies, and their hired mercenary forces, from our shores. That means an act of SELF DEFENSE.
Violence is not an answer, and is not condoned in any way by the founders and staff of this website.
Any person who comments or participates in this site, who makes a posting that suggests, incites, or otherwise supports violent insurrection against the United States will be reported to the Department of Justice.
