2009 Inauguration of Barrack Obama

Today we are apparently witnessing an historic event. Millions of people have gathered in DC to see the swearing in of Barrack Obama as President of the United States.

But, why, I ask, is this really that special? What, aside from the color of his skin, sets this man apart from his predecessors so much as to warrant this huge celebration in the US, and celebration worldwide?

Perhaps it is because they feel Barrack Obama will bring “change”. The question is, what kind of change are we going to see? Will he undo the previous administration’s destruction of the Constitution, the same Constitution that he, and every other President is sworn to uphold? Or will he continue to erode the foundation of America? Already he has nominated, for almost every key position, people who are sworn enemies of the Constitution, or at least enemies of the more important parts of it. This leads us to believe that he will very likely institute change that takes away critical rights, rather than restoring them.

So, today is very likely a historic day. It either means the beginning a new age of freedom in America, or the beginning of a new oppressive regime that will drive us toward a nation not so dissimilar from the former Soviet Union.

We hope and pray that our worst fears are unwarranted.
